My name is Per (and my last name is Onsager, thats the P and the O) and I recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle. Back in January I thought “hey, why not” and applied for a travel fellowship offered through UW. I ended up winning one, and in October I will begin 8 or 9 months of solo travel in some really exciting places.

The purpose of this blog is two-fold: it will tell a chronological story of my journey, and it also provides a way for me to stay closely connected with my personal community of friends and family. I hope that everyone (everyone) will make lots of comments, suggestions, or just say hi. This adventure is exciting, but 8 months is a long time and staying in contact is an important piece to the success equation.
